European Language LABEL 2012 for Zakladni Skola, Praha 13, Mladi 135


Zakladni skola, Praha 13, Mladi 135, received an award on the occasion of the European Day of Languages. It was awarded the European Language Label 2012 for organising a nation-wide competition in English.

The European Language Label targeted this school again after six years. The jury chose the project of the nation-wide competition in English, Video Card from My Town that was chosen from 40 applications. Besides the award, the school also got 200000,- Czech crowns for language development, aids, further education and mobility connected to language education. The twelfth year of the awarded project is organised under the patronage of the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Czech Republic, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic and under support of the Mayor of Prague 13 City District. This award is recognised by the National Agency for European Educational Programmes, the Centre for International Services MoEYS and the Ministry of Education every year.

Members of the jury handed the award to the organisers, Mr Norbert Tlusty and Ms Doubravka Matulova, along with Mr Jaroslav Vodicka, the school’s headmaster. Also a group of pupils from the organising school was present at the ceremony.
